The Athens Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXVIII Olympiad (ATHOC) chartered a plane to fly the Olympic Flame around the world before returning to Athens, the host city of the 2004 Summer Olympics. The visits also included a visit to Helsinki, the host city of the 1952 Summer Olympics.
