This Lightning T.5 spent several years at RAF Newton as a Missile Load Trainer. It was put up for tender in late 1987 and had moved to Cranfield by April 1988 to be registered G-LTNG and then ZU-BEX in February 1992. It was written off near Bredasdorp-Overberg AFB, western Cape, south Africa on the 14th November 2009
