The sole PB (Model 50) was procured in 1925 by the US Navy as the prototype of a large patrol bomber capable of non-stop flight from California to Hawaii. Not ordered in quantity. Modified to XPB-2 in 1928 with fitment of two P&W R-1860 800 h.p. radials. From Boeing 60 years ago.
