Burtonwood based WB-50D of 53 WRS on finals to its home base. Observation and sampling position visible on top of mid fuselage. WB-50D 49-0261 was damaged beyond repair during a wheels up landing at RAF Mildenhall in December 1959. The airframe was transfered to the 7513 ABS at Mildenhall and used for spares reclamation. It was struck off charge on the 21/1/1960 and used as a wreck by the base fire department.
