Named 'Syracuse Shackrat' this C-46D is displayed in the markings of the 2nd Combat Cargo Group, 5th Combat Cargo Squadron which was based in Townsville, Australia in 1944. Unusually, her engines have names too, the starboard Pratt & Whitney R-2800-51 is named 'groan' and the port side is called 'moan'. She is displayed at Pima courtesy of the National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
