Photographed while stored amongst numerous other historic test aircraft destined for the Air Force Flight Test Center Museum. This early F-111 was one of eighteen Research Development Test and Evaluation prototypes from the the first production batch. It was used for numerous test programmes including TACT-Transonic AirCraft Technology for which it was fitted with a wing design of supercritical section. Later it was used in the AFTI-Advanced Fighter Technology Integration programme fitted with a variable camber mission adaptive wing.
